CT Man Sentenced For Shooting Into Occupied Homes Of Former High School Classmates A Connecticut man will serve more than a decade in prison for firing into the occupied homes of two women he knew from high school. Gregory McHugh, 42, of Guilford, fired eight rounds into one home on Dec. 21, 2022, and four rounds into another on Oct. 24, 2023, prosecutors said.  Both homes were in Guilford. The women had attended Guilford High School with him. Judge David L. Zagaja sentenced McHugh to 24 years in prison, suspended after 12 years served, followed by five years of probation, according to New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. CT Ranks High Among Nation's Highest-Taxed States: See Chart New rankings reveal the nation’s highest-taxing states, with a sizable gap separating the leader from the pack. New York and its local governments collected more taxes per person than any other state, according to the Citizens Budget Commission’s “Top of the Charts 4” analysis.
