ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Tappan Zee High School recently held its Acoustic Underground, a bi-annual concert highlighting the musical talents of the school’s students and teachers.
This year’s first show, held on Oct. 14, was sponsored by the high school’s Spanish Honor Society and featured 25 students and a handful of teachers, according to a statement from the South Orangetown school district.
“The spotlight glowed on the guitarists, pianists, singers, and original songwriters who performed 17 pieces,” officials said in a statement, adding that some performed solo while others accompanied other musicians.
According to the district, the school year’s second Acoustic Underground will be held at some point in the spring.
