NYACK, N.Y. -- A Lyndhurst woman almost hit two officers on foot patrol before being arrested early Friday on drunken driving charges, according to the Orangetown Police Department.
Officers arrested Sigrid Torres, 33,at 2:32 a.m., charging her with driving while intoxicated, according to police.
The officers allegedly saw a vehicle traveling west on Main Street at a high rate of speed, then come close to striking them, according to police.
The vehicle was stopped on Main Street, and when the officers spoke to the driver, identified as Torres, they noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her breath and noticed her to have glassy, bloodshot eyes, police said.
Torres was arrested and taken to Orangetown police headquarters, where she allegedly consented to a breath test, which she reportedly failed, according to police.
She was processed and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, said police.
Torres was released and is due back in Nyack Justice Court on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
