Officers spied the car around 10 p.m. sitting in the parking lot with two people inside, police said.

After speaking with the occupants, the officer determined who the operator was and that he recently drove the vehicle to that location. The officer also determined that the driver was unfit to operate a motor vehicle and that it was due to a combination of drugs and alcohol, police said.

The 47-year-old man was charged with DWAI after a drug recognition expert conducted an in-depth assessment, police added.

The unidentified man was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
