ORANGETOWN, N.Y. – Orangetown police said a 21-year-old Pearl River motorist registered twice the legal limit after he crashed his car on Route 304 over the weekend.
Micahel Duda was standing outside the car, which was disabled on the center median, when responding officers pulled up just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Kirk Vega said Monday night.
He smelled of alcohol, had “glassy eyes, slurred speech and poor motor control” and failed on-scene sobriety tests, Vega said.
After consenting to a breath test, Duda was charged with DWI and released pending a Dec. 20 hearing in Orangetown Justice Court.
