ORANGETOWN, N.Y. – The Orangetown Town Board is holding a public hearing Tuesday at 8:05 p.m. at Town Hall regarding a “Do-Not-Knock” registry to combat door-to-door solicitors, according to a report by lohud.com.

The proposed amendments to the "hawking and peddling" law, already in place, would include the Do-Not-Knock registry, where residents can sign up and vendors would not be able to contact houses on the list. Vendors who violate the “Do-Not-Knock” proposal would have their permits revoked or face fines, according to lohud.com/
