A water utility company based in Camden said it is pausing billing in the wake of a cyberattack on Thursday, Oct. 3.
American Water serves 2.8 million people in the Garden State, providing water to municipalities in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Union and Warren counties.

New Jersey has joined a group of states suing social media giant TikTok, alleging the video-sharing app is highly-addictive and harmful to children.
The complaint, filed temporarily under seal in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, Essex County, alleges multiple violations of the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act (CFA), New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said.

Panera 'Charged Lemonade' Linked To Death Of UPenn Student From Jersey City Suit Settled
More than two years after a UPenn student from New Jersey died, her family has settled their wrongful death suit against Panera.
Sarah Katz, of Jersey City, died at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center on Sept. 10, 2022, according to her obituary.
The 21-year-old's death came shortly after she drank "Charged Lemonade" at the Panera located at 200 South 40th Street, in Philadelphia, according to the lawsuit filed on Monday, Oct. 23, 2023, by Kline & Specter, P.C. on behalf of Jill and Michael Katz.

Three Powerball tickets winning $50,000 from a drawing earlier this month were sold in New Jersey.

A New Jersey man has been charged after presenting falsified bank statements in a Hudson Valley court and testifying they were real, authorities said.
James Wolff, 50, of Teaneck, NJ, was arraigned on Monday, Sept. 30, Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh II announced on Thursday, Oct. 3.
According to the district attorney, in June, an investigation found that Wolff knowingly possessed and submitted falsified bank statements to the Rockland County Surrogate’s Court and testified, under oath, to their validity.
