"Orange Is The New Black," the hit Netflix series, is filming Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center in Orangeburg according to On Location Vacations.
The show, which starts its 7th season in February, 2017, regularly shoots scenes there, having the facility stand-in for the fictional prison where the show takes place.
For those who don't watch, the comedy/drama, centers on a Manhattan woman in her 30s -- played by Actress Taylor Schilling -- who is sentenced to 15 months in Litchfield Penitentiary, a minimum-security women's federal prison. Go HERE for story about Actor Michael Chernus, a frequent "Orange" cast member, who spends his downtown in Putnam and Westchester.
According to Film Rockland, parts of the Netflix series, "The Following," starring Kevin Bacon were filmed in New City. So, keep an eye out for familiar back roads scenes. And for "Blindspot" fans, the series finale contains scenes from the area as well.
Meanwhile, across the river in Westchester, "Quantico," starring Priyanka Chopra is shooting along Westchester Avenue and Corporate Park Drive in West Harrison.
In July, the ABC show, which began its second season Sept. 25, spent time filming along Main Street and Broadway in Tarrytown.
