Beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 12, contractors from Suez Water will begin replacing the main, causing overnight road closures from approximately 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night. Work will also take place during the day on Saturdays while the project continues.

The Ramapo Police Department has issued an alert, notifying residents that there will be detours posted while work on the water main is ongoing. Locals that typically travel on Maple Avenue during the hours of the project have been advised to seek alternate routes.

Police said that the first part of the work will affect Maple Avenue between Howard Drive and Maple Terrace.
