The closures have been under way since Sunday, Dec. 18.

Weather permitting, crews will be performing bridge repairs from 8 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the next day.

Lanes closures specifically affect both northbound and southbound portions of the Parkway between Exit 8 (Route 59) and Exit 10 (North Middletown Road). The ramps at Exit 9 (I-287/I-87) will also be closed.

Delays are expected and motorists should follow the posted detour, DiSarro said.

Drivers are being asked to be extra careful when traveling through work zones and to pay attention to flaggers and all traffic control signs.

In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
