PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – Hen Hud’s recent 5-0 loss to Pearl River in the Section 1 Class A semifinals may be due to a “little curse,” the Sailors’ coach told lohud.com on Wednesday.

Kurt Thomas, who mused that strange stuff tends to happen whenever his softball team plays the Pirates, recalled a bad hop that led to Hen Hud’s defeat in the 2010 Section 1 final and to Pearl River’s going on to win the state title, the lohud.com article said.

Hen Hud 's team hails from Hendrick Hudson High School in the Westchester village of Montrose.

This time around the weirdness involved a missed plate call, Thomas told lohud.com.
