This year’s first show, held on Oct. 14, was sponsored by the high school’s Spanish Honor Society and featured 25 students and a handful of teachers, according to a statement from the South Orangetown school district.

“The spotlight glowed on the guitarists, pianists, singers, and original songwriters who performed 17 pieces,” officials said in a statement, adding that some performed solo while others accompanied other musicians.

According to the district, the school year’s second Acoustic Underground will be held at some point in the spring.
