ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Suicide bereavement and postvention expert Joanne Harpel will speak at Tappan Zee High School about how to cope after a suicide.
The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the high school's band room.
Harpel has been talking about how best to cope with suicide for the past 14 years, helping to create International Survivors of Suicide Day in the process.
Her work has led to to make appearances on Capitol Hill and work with the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, the Veterans Administration, the South Korea National Police Agency, the Northern Ireland National Health Service and others.
The high school is at 15 Dutch Hill Road in Orangeburg.
