The foundation is a local charity in memory of a Tappan Zee High School student who committed suicide after being bullied. The foundation works to raise awareness and offer support for teen issues, including bullying and thoughts of suicide.

Earlier this year, staff and students came together to raise money for the cause through a staff vs. student volleyball game in the SOMS gymnasium, where teachers, students and even the principal tried their hand at beating one another in several matches throughout the evening. Everyone had so much fun, they forgot to keep score.

The group of honor society students running the event collected donations from local businesses to make donation baskets for a few lucky attendees at the event, sold refreshments, and admission tickets to raise money. At the end of the evening, $541.15 was raised for the foundation.
