TAPPAN, N.Y. -- Members of the South Orangetown Middle School and Tappan Zee High School Italian Clubs, as well as the Italian Honor Society, helped kick off the final day of the seventh annual Rockland Lodge Italian Feast in Tappan on Sunday by dancing the Neapolitan Tarantella for an enthusiastic crowd of festivalgoers.
Over 100 onlookers then joined in for a second round of the lively traditional dance.
SOCSD Italian teachers Roberta Avantifiori, Maria Bruno, Tricia Castelli and Christina Nilson were happy to hear from community members who look forward to the Tarantella dancing, which has become a traditional part of the entertainment lineup for the feast.
At the conclusion of the dance, participants also said they look forward to next year's feast, already set for Sept. 14-17.
