A Valley Cottage man had to be subdued at Nyack Hospital by security guards on Friday, March 10, after he pulled out a handgun following an argument with hospital staff, according to the Orangetown Police Department.

Kenneth Snipes, 57, was charged with reckless endangerment after pulling the loaded 9mm handgun out of its holster when he became upset with hospital staff, endangering patients and visitors in the area, police said.

Security guards tackled Snipes and held him until Orangetown police arrived on scene and were able to arrest him, police said.

Snipes, who has a valid permit to the carry the weapon, is scheduled to appear in court on March 28.
