Three Arrested After Violent Attack On Victim In Rockland, Police Say

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Three men are in police custody after Ramapo and Spring Valley police officers said they interrupted a violent early Sunday morning assault in progress in the area of East Eckerson Road and Route 45 in the Hillcrest area of the town.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Ramapo Police Department received a call of an assault in progress.

Spring Valley Police Department arrived on scene and the first officer described seeing a man on the ground getting kicked, punched and stomped by numerous other male subjects.

Three males, whose identities have not yet been released, were taken into custody and charged with assault in the third degree by the Ramapo Police Department.

The victim was transported to Nyack Hospital with lacerations to the head (requiring more than 25 stiches) and eye, as well as swelling and bruising to his face.

The three defendants are currently at Ramapo Police Station awaiting arraignment.
