ORANGEBURG, N.Y. -- A New Jersey teen is facing charges after police accused him of stealing $8,000 worth of items from an Orangeburg homeowner, police announced Thursday.
Matthew E. Tuite, 19, of Norwood, was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony, in connection with the theft of cash, gift cards, a U.S. commemorative coin, and a bottle of narcotic painkillers from the home, police said.
Police said Tuite had been hired by the homeowner to perform some painting services. He is due in Orangeburg Justice Court on Aug. 10.
