ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- A Spring Valley woman found herself in handcuffs after getting into a fight with another woman in Nyack, according to Orangetown Police Lt. Michael Shannon.

Schene White, 35, was charged with assault after getting into a fight with the other woman on the sidewalk in front of 88 Main St. White was accused of punching the woman in the face and head causing injuries serious enough for the victim to need medical treatment at a local hospital, Shannon said.

"There was some kind of past between the two," he said. "The victim was walking her dog and two women approached her and the fight broke out. Only one of the women attacked her."

White was processed and released and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 25.
