ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Spring Valley High School students have returned to class following a bomb threat that was written on a classroom wall, East Ramapo School officials said.

Police were called around 7:10 a.m. Friday and students were evacuated immediately from the school at 361 E. Route 59, said  Spring Valley Police.

The Rockland County Bomb Squad responded with bomb-sniffing dogs to scan the school for any explosives before students were allowed to return to class just before 9 a.m., said police said.

Police would not confirm whether any explosives were found.

District officials said students were held in warmed school buses as bomb squad members scanned the building.

Firefighters and police remain on the scene.
