Route 45 Reckless Driving Stop Results In Man's Third DWI Charge

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A man with two previous DWI convictions was charged with a third after being stopped Saturday by Rockland County Sheriff's deputies for driving erratically.

Robert Peterson, 41, of Rensselaer, was stopped around 5:25 a.m. when deputies noticed he was driving in an erratic manner with equipment violations on Route 45 in Hillcrest, sheriff's officials said.

During the stop, deputies determined that Peterson was intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with reckless driving and felony DWI, police said.

He is being held at the Rockland County Jail on $2,500 bail.
