Police Arrest Two Teens On Larceny, Drug Possession Charges In Pearl River

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police arrested a 17-year-old female from Pearl River and a 16-year-old female from Tappan on larceny and drug-related charges Saturday evening, authorities said.

The suspects, whose names have not been released, allegedly stole a bottle of whiskey from a store in Pearl River, police report.

In addition, each of the teens was found to be in possession of Dilaudid, a narcotic pain medication, according to officials.

The teens have been charged with petty larceny, criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, all misdemeanors, police report.

The defendants were released on appearance tickets, according to officials.

They are scheduled to appear in the Town of Orangetown Justice Court on Wednesday, Sept. 21, police report.
