PEARL RIVER, N. Y. -- Orangetown police are investigating an apparent attempted burglary at a house Wednesday morning in Pearl River that ended when the resident scared away the intruder, police said.

Someone entered a house on Burdick Road between 8:15 a.m. and 10 a.m. Wednesday morning through a sliding glass door, police said. When a woman returned to the house at about 10 a.m., the intruder apparently ran off, police said. Nothing was taken, police said.

She did not confront the intruder, police said. Anyone with information about this incident, or any others, should call police at (845)-359-2121.
