Orangetown Police Charge N.J. Man With Aggravated DWI

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police have arrested a 22-year-old resident of Norwood, N.J., on a DWI charge, authorities said.

The arrest came about following a motor vehicle stop for a traffic violation on Orangeburg Road on Thursday, Sept. 1, about 10:25 p.m., according to officials.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Joseph Corso, had the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath, along with glassy eyes and impaired speech, police report.

The suspect consented to, and failed, numerous field sobriety tests at the scene, according to officials.

Corso was taken into custody and transported to Orangetown Police Headquarters, where he failed a breathalyzer test, police report.

He has been charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor, according to officials.

The defendant was released on bail, and is due back in Orangetown Justice Court on Wednesday, Oct. 5, police report.
