Orangetown Police Charge Man, Woman With Assaulting One Another

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. -- Orangetown police have charged a 41-year-old man from Spring Valley and a 26-year-old woman from Nyack with assault, following an alleged domestic altercation between them last week, police said.

Orangetown police responded to a domestic incident at the Best Western Motel in Nyack about 11:35 p.m. Thursday, officials report.

At the scene, officers encountered a man, identified as Justin Johnson, and a woman, identified as Danielle Jean, who had both sustained injuries from an altercation that they had with each other, according to police.

Both parties received medical attention for their injuries; after an investigation by police, each party was arrested and charged with assaulting the other, according to officials.

Johnson was charged with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing, both misdemeanors, along with second-degree harassment, a violation, police report.

Jean was charged with third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors, as well as second-degree harassment, a violation, according to officials.

Johnson and Jean were transported to Orangetown police headquarters, where they were arraigned on all charges, police report.

Both were remanded to the Rockland County Jail, with a future court date in Nyack Justice Court, according to officials.
