ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police have arrested a 28-year-old Orangeburg resident on criminal contempt charges, authorities said.
The arrest came about following a domestic incident involving the suspect, Andrew Yankay, of Orangeburg, on July 23, according to officials.
Yankay allegedly became physical with one individual and threatened another; both had orders of protection against Yankay at the time of the incident, police report.
Yankay was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal contempt in the second degree, according to officials.
He was arraigned in Orangetown Justice Court and released, police report.
The defendant is due back in Orangetown Justice Court at a future date to answer the charges, according to officials.
