ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- A New Jersey man was nabbed for drunk driving on Saturday after crashing his vehicle into a stone wall in Upper Grandview, according to the Orangetown Police Department.

Jeffrey Ramirez, 26, of West New York, N.J., was charged with DWI after officers received a report of a motor vehicle crash on South Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found Ramirez inside his vehicle which has overturned and crashed into a stone wall, police said.

Ramirez, who was not injured was able to get out of the vehicle, police added.

When officers approached him, they could smell alcohol and he had glassy eyes and slurred speech, police said.

He consented to a breathalyzer test, which he failed, police said.

He was arrested and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 21.
