ORANGETOWN, N.J. -- An Orange County man whose car broke down in Blauvelt was charged with DWI, Orangetown police said Thursday.
Sean J. Sullivan, 47, of Campbell Hall had "bloodshot watery eyes, difficulty keeping his balance and an odor of an alcoholic beverage" on his breath when officers responding to a call of a suspicious person found him standing outside the car at Coolidge Street and Blauvelt Road around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, Lt. Michael Shannon said.
Sullivan "failed several sobriety tests at the scene," was brought to headquarters and refused to take a breath test, Shannon said.
He was released to a responsible adult pending a Jan. 11 hearing in Orangetown Justice Court, the lieutenant said.
