ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Nyack man was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend during a domestic incident on Saturday in Stony Point, police said.

Anthony Gulifield, 51, was charged with assault and harassment after Stony Point police responded to a domestic violence call around 2:20 a.m. on Thiells Road, said Lt. Daniel Hylas.

When officers arrived they found the 47-year-old woman, who has a relationship with Gulifield, had been assaulted by him, Hylas said.

Gulifield is being held at the Rockland County Jail on $1,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 21.
