ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- A New City driver who hit two other vehicles with his car before fleeing registered more than twice the legal DWI limit on a breath test, Orangetown police said Saturday.
Police responding to a 3:30 a.m. report Saturday of a vehicle blocking a Sickles Avenue driveway in Nyack found the damage, Lt. Michael Shannon said.
Nearby, officers found Shane B. Schwartz, 24, who had "an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath, glassy eyes and slurred speech," Shannon said.
Schwartz later registered more than twice the legal limit on a breath test, the lieutenant said.
He was released pending a Feb. 28 hearing in Nyack Justice Court on charged of DWI and leaving the scene of a property damage crash.
