PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- Orangetown Police are looking into a suspicious incident in which a man in a vehicle approached a 12-year-old Pearl River child while waiting for his school bus on Wednesday.

Orangetown Police say the boy was waiting at the end of his driveway on Van Buren Street about 7:20 a.m. when a man, driving a small sliver, four-door car (possibly a Chevrolet), with a small white dog in the front passenger seat, pulled up and motioned for the boy to come to the car, police said.

The child did not approach the car, but his parent did. As his parent walked towards the car, the man drove away.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Orangetown Police Department at 845-359-3700.
