ID Released For Suffern Man Charged In 'Bathrobe Burglary' Case

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - The name of the Suffern man who made a splash on social media by being caught on camera in his bathrobe breaking into an Airmont home has been obtained by Daily Voice shortly after Ramapo Police announced his arrest Wednesday morning.

Krzysztof Niepostyn, 26, was identified after the video was released by the Ramapo Police Department to the media and public. Following its release, including by Daily Voice, more than 200,000 people viewed the video, leading police to his identity.

He was arrested on Wednesday without incident. Police did not reveal why he was wearing his bathrobe and slippers when he broke into the unoccupied home. 

Niepostyn was charged with felony burglary, arraigned and released after posting $25, 000 cash bail and is set to appear in court on Dec. 7.
