According to Ramapo Police, they received a call around 1:14 a.m. from the Franklin Township Police Department in New Jersey, reporting they had received some calls from residents reporting that a woman in Ramapo had posted on Facebook that she was going to harm herself.

A Franklin Township lieutenant called the woman and engaged her in conversation while another one of their officers contacted the Ramapo Police Department and provided a possible address of the female.

Ramapo officers responded to the address in the Hillcrest area and were able to gain entry to the home. Once inside, officers found a 20-year-old female who told them she had taken a number of pills in an attempt to harm herself, police said.

The woman was transported to Nyack Hospital for medical treatment.

The police department was assisted by the Spring Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
