Officers from the Ramapo Police Department were dispatched to a quiet Monsey street at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, following reports of the vehicle making noise and defacing the roadway.

Police said that upon arrival, they found the occupants of the vehicle to be in possession of marijuana, edibles, concentrated cannabis, hashish and paraphernalia. In total, there were more than two pounds of marijuana recovered by police, including more than two ounces of hashish.

The driver, a 17-year-old man from Brooklyn - whose name was not released by police - was subsequently charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana. He was also charged for endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, because there was a 14-year-old boy in the car with him.

Two other male occupants of the vehicle, both 17, one from Monsey and another from Brooklyn, were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. The driver was released on $1,000 bail and the others were released on their own recognizance. All three are due back in the Town of Ramapo Justice Court later this year to answer the charges.
