CENTRAL NYACK, N.Y. -- The Key Bank on Route 59 in Central Nyack was robbed Friday by a suspect in his late teens or early 20s, according to the Clarkstown Police Department.
The robbery occurred around 2 p.m. when the young male walked into the bank and demanded money from a teller, said Officer Peter Walker, spokesman for the Clarkstown Police Department.
Currently, both Clarkstown detectives and agents from the FBI are interviewing witness, reviewing surveillance video and piecing together what happened, Walker said.
The initial report said that a male in his late teens or early 20s, wearing a black Nike sweatshirt, entered the bank and made demands of the bank teller. At this point in the investigation it is unclear if any money was stolen by the suspect, Walker added.
The suspect exited the bank and fled in an unknown direction. It has not been determined if the suspect fled on foot or in a vehicle. There were no injuries to the bank employees, he added.
Walker said the department is asking residents who may have witnessed the incident or have information, to contact the Clarkstown Police Department at 845-639-5800.
