ORANGEBURG, N.Y. -- Simon R. Perrone, a resident of Orangeburg, died Saturday, April 23. He was 82.
He was born on Oct.7, 1933 to Simon and Lee Perrone, and was a resident of Rockland County for more than 50 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for many years as a steel worker for Washburn Wire Co. in New York City and owned a New York City medallion taxi cab. Later in life, he was a salesman for Jim Smith Chevrolet in Spring Valley.
He is survived by his wife, Lena; his children, Sam Perrone and his wife Kelli and Angela Iannicelli and her husband Tom; and his grandchildren, Sammy, Danielle and Michael Perrone, Allison and Gregory Iannicelli.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, at 11 a.m. at St. Catharine’s Church in Blauvelt with burial to follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill.
