BLAUVELT, N.Y. – Santo E. Galdi, a resident of Blauvelt, died Monday, June 6. He was 93.
He was born July 29, 1923, in New York City and was a resident of Blauvelt since 1955.
He was a member of the armed services in both World War II and the Korean War. After moving to Blauvelt, he helped organize the South Orangetown Ambulance Corps. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 25 years. He also was honored as “Man of the Year” at St. Catharine’s Church in Blauvelt for his many years of volunteer service to the parish.
He is survived by his children Liz Locatelli and her husband Carl, Terri Winterling and her husband Ken, Phil Galdi and his wife Nancy and Joe Galdi and his wife Eileen; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Meals on Wheels Programs and Services of Rockland Inc., 121 W. Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY 10954 or United Hospice of Rockland.
