SOUTH NYACK, N.Y. -- Mildred Walter passed away peacefully at home Saturday, June 18 at the age of 92.
She was born in Brooklyn and lived in South Nyack for almost 60 years. She was the youngest of six sisters and the last surviving sibling.
After high school, she -- with her true spirit of adventure -- joined the WAC’s and was stationed in Alaska.
Her husband, Wally, died in 2008. She is survived by her three children, Hillary (Roger Dubin-husband), Abbe and Bruce (Quynh Pham-wife); grandchildren, Jared and Tara Dubin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins on both sides.
There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at Hannemann Funeral Home, 88 S. Broadway, Nyack. Burial will be private. Shiva will be observed from 2-4:30 and 6:30-9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at her home in South Nyack.
