Funeral Services Announced For New City Double-Fatal Crash Victims

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Funeral services will be held Wednesday for Aline and Neil Block, of New City, who were killed Sunday when a Nanuet man allegedly ran a red light and crashed into their vehicle in Clarkstown.

The service for the couple will be at 11 a.m. at Temple Beth Sholom at 228 New Hempstead Road in New City, according to Hellman Memorial Chapels in Ramapo.

The funeral home said a committal service will follow at 12:45 p.m. at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Ave., Paramus, New Jersey.

Mr. Block was born on September 12, 1947, in New York City. He was 69 years old. Mrs. Block was born on December 8, 1948, in the Bronx. She was 68 years old.

Clarkstown Police said the couple died after Matthew Sindone, 23, ran a red light and plowed into their vehicle on Route 304 at 5:13 p.m. Sunday.

Sindone, who has been charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter, was driving without a license while impaired by drugs when the crash occurred, police said.
