SPARKILL, N.Y. -- Daniel F. Salvia, of Sparkill, died Thursday, Sept 1. He was 93.
He was born in Brooklyn, lived for a short time in Berwick, Pa. and later in the Bronx.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific as a light artillery instructor.
He retired from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority after a career of more than 35 years, starting as a car maintainer and rising to chief of operations.
He was an active member of St. Anthony’s Parish in Northvale and a member of the Perry Post American Legion in Sparkill.
