The Yorktown community has come together to support the family of Tracey Doerr Lister, who died Monday from complications of heat stroke while hiking with her boys at Black Canyon National Park in Colorado.
Lister, who grew up in Yorktown and was living in Colorado, was 49 years old and would have celebrated her birthday Friday, July 14.
Lister was hiking with her 16- and 20-year-old sons when she collapsed on the trail, according to the National Park Service. Son Hansen Lister is a junior in college and Barrett Lister a junior in high school.
