An undercover agent who is less than 21 years of age, the legal drinking age, attempted to purchase alcohol from the businesses without providing identification.
The businesses cited for selling to the undercover agent are:
- Super Seven, 75 Orange Turnpike, Sloatsburg. An employee of the store, age 26, was charged with Prohibited Sale of Alcohol to a Minor, an ABC Law violation. This employee was released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance in the Village of Sloatsburg Justice Court.
- Look & Pick (Guzzels), 362 North Main Street, Hillcrest. An employee of the store, age 66, was charged with the same violation. This employee was also released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance in the Town of Ramapo Justice Court.
- Goldpath Wine and Liquors. An employee of the store, age 21, was charged with the same violation. The employee was also released pending a future court appearance in the Town of Ramapo Justice Court.
The following businesses were found to be in compliance and should be commended for their diligence:
- Sloatsburg Wine and Liquor, 61 Orange Turnpike, Sloatsburg
- Hayward’s Market, 59 Orange Turnpike, Sloatsburg
- Super Stop & Shop, 1581 Route 202, Pomona
- J Evans Liquors, 1621 Route 202, Pomona
- Iryna Liquors, 298 North Main St, Hillcrest
- Sunoco- 298 North Main Street, Hillcrest
- 7-Eleven, 294 North Main Street, Hillcrest
- Cresthill Wine and Liquor, 285 North Main Street, Hillcrest
- Hillcrest Beverage, 297 North Main Street, Hillcrest
