The Clarkstown Police Department has released a video including images of the black vehicle wanted in connection with Tuesday morning's hit-and-run in which a child was injured in Congers.

The 7-year-old was rushed to the hospital after being injured after the incident which occurred at approximately 8:05 a.m. at the intersection of Lakewood Drive and Lakeland Avenue in Congers.

Responding officers arrived on scene and began to administer first aid to the girl, who appeared to have a broken leg, police said.

Rockland Paramedics and the Congers Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported the child to Westchester Medical for non-life threatening injuries.

The vehicle that struck the child fled the scene without stopping, last seen traveling eastbound on Lakewood Drive, police said.

The Clarkstown Police Department is asking for anyone who may recognize the car or may have been in the area and has additional information to contact the police department at 845-639-5800.
