NYACK, N. Y. -- Though several students at two Nyack schools may have been exposed to a case of infectious tuberculosis, local health officials say they don't believe there should be worry about an outbreak, according to lohud.com
Health officials notified parents at Nyack Middle School and Liberty Elementary School about the tuberculosis case this week. How many children may have been exposed is unclear, lohud.com says.
Parents of children who may have had contact with the infected person were given information about the infection and testing. Health officials said the germs only live for a few hours so they aren't too worried further spreading, according to lohud.com.
