NYACK, N.Y. -- A puppeteer’s recent performance of his fractured fairy tale has some Nyack parents in an uproar, according to a report on lohud.com

The controversy centers on the portrayal of a princess in Rick Lyon’s “The Magic Orange,” the lohud report said.

The concerns over what some called negative stereotyping spurred ArtsRock, the organizers of the show, to send out an email apology, the lohud article said.

Lyon told lohud that he was surprised by the negative response and thought things were being blown out of proportion.
