ORANGEBURG, N.Y. -- News 12 reported a sad ending to the story of an Orangeburg kitten that had been trapped in a storm drain for two days.
Runoff and heavy rain filled the drain, while a heavy grate hampered rescue. Police, the highway department, the fire department, Care About The Strays, and the Hudson Valley Humane Society joined private citizens in an effort to coax the kitten out of the drain, but were unsuccessful, News 12 Westchester said.
Rescue workers did manage to get the kitten on the second day, but cold not revive the animal, reported News 12 Westchester.
