July 4th Rockland Transit Schedule Announced

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - Rockland County Executive Ed Day and his Department of Public Transportation have announced a series of transit schedule changes planned for the Fourth of July holiday.

Transport of Rockland (TOR) will operate on a Sunday schedule on Independence Day, with the Tappan ZEExpress (TXz) buses will not operate. Day announced that TRIPS paratransit buses will operate A.D.A. services only.

On Friday, June 30, before the holiday, TZx will meet an early getaway train department from Grand Central Terminal at 3:11 p.m. and arriving at the Metro-North station in Tarrytown at 3:47 p.m.

Other scheduled changes include:

Friday, June 30th:

  • TOR, TZx and TRIPS buses will operate regular weekday schedules.
  • TZx will meet an early getaway train departing Grand Central at 3:11 p.m., arriving at Tarrytown at 3:47 p.m. TZx will also meet an added train departing Grand Central at 6 p.m., arriving at Tarrytown at 6:43 p.m. The train that normally departs Grand Central at 5:57 p.m. will not be in operation.
  • Coach USA Rockland Coaches will operate regular weekday service.
  • Metro-North Hudson Line trains will operate regular service plus early getaway trains connecting with Tarrytown TZx buses and Haverstraw-Ossining ferries.
  • Metro-North Port Jervis Line trains will operate regular service.
  • NJ Transit Pascack Valley Line will extend a 2:58 p.m. departure from Hoboken to Pearl River, Nanuetand Spring Valley. Main/Bergen Line trains will operate regular service.
  • The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will operate an extra ferry from Ossining at 4:01 p.m. to connect with Hudson Line trains departing from Grand Central at 2:51 and 3:11 p.m.

Monday, July 3rd:

  • TOR, TZx and TRIPS buses will operate regular weekday service.
  • Coach USA Express Shortline bus service from the Exit 14 Park & Ride lot will operate a modified morning and evening service. Early getaway buses will be added at 2:02 p.m. and 2:32 p.m. from 56th St. & 5th Ave. and at 2:30 p.m. from Wall Street.
  • All other transit systems serving Rockland will operate regular weekday service.

Tuesday, July 4th:

  • TOR #59, #91, #92, #93 and Loop #3 will operate Sunday schedules. TOR #94, #95, #97 and TZx buses will not operate. Loop 1 and Loop 2 will operate regular service.
  • TRIPS paratransit buses will operate A.D.A. service only.
  • Coach USA Rockland Coaches will operate Sunday service.
  • Coach USA Express Shortline bus service from the Exit 14 Park & Ride will not operate.
  • Metro-North’s Hudson Line trains will operate Saturday service and Port Jervis Line trains will operate Weekend service.
  • NJ Transit Main/Bergen Line and Pascack Valley Line trains will operate Weekend service.
  • The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will not operate.
