According to  Rockland officials, residents will receive a call sometime between 5:30  to 9 p.m., Wednesday, April 26. No action is required by residents. Calls will go to all phones registered, including cell phones and landlines.

Emergency officials are looking to improve the system through the testing. In the event of a real emergency, residents would receive instructions on what is happening and what steps to take.

Examples of emergency calls include Indian Point siren failure notifications, evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices, and missing child reports.
