ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - A home health aide in Rockland County has been arrested after video surfaced of her allegedly abusing a child under the age of 10 who was under her care, Orangetown Police said.

On Wednesday, April 19, members of the Orangetown PD were dispatched to a Pearl River home after a mother reported that their aide, 21-year-old Bardonia resident Kathleen Anne Keffner had abused her child.

Upon arrival, police said that the victim’s mother showed them a home security video that “clearly shows Keffner physically abusing the child.” Detectives then responded to the scene and following further investigation, Keffner was arrested.

Keffner was charged with a felony count of endangering the welfare of an incompetent and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. She was arraigned in Orangetown Justice Court and has been released. She is due back in court on Tuesday, June 20.
