A crowdfunding page was set up to support the family by Ceresnik's friends. As of Tuesday afternoon, $82,915 has been raised from 429 donors. Ceresnik was married to his wife Laureen and had two children, Marty, 7 and Jenny, 5.

"I've known Marty since first grade," Ian Gaffney, who helped set up the page said. "I was his best man. I'm the godfather to his daughter. You feel like there's nothing you can do, but this is something that didn't take a lot of time. Hopefully, this captures the love and the light that Marty provided everyone he met."

Gaffney, who fought back tears as he spoke, said the response from the community has been amazing.

"Hopefully this takes some of the pressure of his family for a while," Gaffney said.

Everyone who knew Ceresnik loved him and he was someone who made friends everywhere he went, Gaffney said.

"He was everybody's friend," Gaffney said."His smile lit up the room. He was an awesome father and an awesome husband. He loved life. He wold remember stories from years ago and bring them up when he wanted to make people laugh."

Gaffney is 6'6 and Ceresnik was 5'8 and people always said they were like the characters from the movie "Twins."

"We were twins, but he was twins with everybody," Gaffney said. "He would find commonality with a random stranger or with a guy from high school that he hadn't seen in 20 years. He was just that guy."
